Kirli Saunders
Kirli Saunders (OAM) is a proud Gunai Woman and multi-award-winning writer, artist and singer-songwriter. She has written eight books including Eclipse, Bindi, Afloat and Returning. Her theatre show Yandha Djanbay will tour in 2026. As a visual artist, Kirli’s work includes film collaborations, her drone installation Buungbaa Ma Ndhu and the voice-to-art digital installation TRACES. Kirli was awarded an Order of Australia Medal for her contribution to the arts in 2022.
