The Book Thief. Hairy Maclary. Harry Potter.

Everyone has a favourite book. Maybe you have a neighbour whose nose is always buried in the latest bestseller. Or a young friend who’s mesmerised by stories from the authors who’ll visit our local schools this year: Sami Bayly, Nick Long, Tami Sussman, Sue Whiting and Solli Raphael. Maybe you know a teen who just loves reading.

An important new community initiative is The Giving Tree. Developed in conjunction with Milton Ulladulla Apex Club and the community kindness project MUCK-up, the initiative will get books into the hands of locals who might not normally have access to them. People will be invited to buy a book from the StoryFest Harbour Bookshop pop-up stall throughout the festival and place it under the tree built by the Milton Ulladulla Men’s Shed at the Ulladulla Civic Centre.
