When Small Town Provisions opened over four years ago, our dream was to make exceptional artisanal produce accessible to our wonderful community. And if our delightful, delectable and downright delicious Ortiz Sardines on Toast are not the epitome of that vision, we don’t know what is!

This perfectly uncomplicated plate sets a scrumptious stage for a ‘continental heritage meets coastal cool’ culinary fusion. The glorious melting texture and intense flavour of the sardines – lovingly cultivated by Spain’s renowned Ortiz Conservas for more than 130 years – is paired with the crunch of Lagom Bakery’s sourdough, the saltiness of Pepe Saya Cultured Butter, fresh garden chives and a touch of Espelette pepper’s spicy oomph. Add a squeeze of lemon, et voilà – an interactive fusion of tasty provisions from near and far, ready to be shared. 

And that’s how all good things in life should be enjoyed.
