Richard Glover
Richard Glover’s most recent book is The Land Before Avocado – a journey into the bizarre Australia of the late 60s and early 70s. He is also the author of the memoir Flesh Wounds, described by The Australian as “a breathtaking accomplishment in style and empathy”. Flesh Wounds was voted one of the top five books of the year by viewers of ABC television's The Book Club and was Reader's Choice winner as Biography of the Year in the 2016 Australian Book Industry Awards. Richard’s weekly humour column has been published in the Sydney Morning Herald for over thirty years. He writes regularly for The Washington Post and London’s Evening Standard and presents the top-rating Drive show on ABC Radio Sydney. He has a Bachelor of Arts with first class honours from the University of Sydney, and is secretary of the NSW Journalists' Benevolent Fund. He lives with the playwright Debra Oswald; they have two sons.
